Piano Press publishes fun, unique, and culturally diverse materials for piano teachers and students. With forty years of teaching experience and the combined expertise of many qualified music teachers, songwriters, musicians, writers, artists, and producers, our mission is to provide materials for both the private music studio and the music classroom.
Our products feature original songs and piano pieces by acclaimed songwriters and composers. Intended for both instructional purposes and entertainment, the songs and compositions we publish serve as supplementary teaching pieces and can accompany any method. We create "pedagogically sound" piano arrangements that work well for instructional purposes.
Elizabeth C. Axford, M.A., has provided private and group piano lessons since 1984 in her Santa Fe, NM, Del Mar and La Jolla, CA, and Miami, FL studios, music store studios, private homes, and public and private school classrooms. Her students have ranged from the very beginner (3-4 years) to the senior citizen, from the hobbyist to the professional recording artist. With a long alumni list, her students have successfully performed in recitals, showcases, talent shows, festivals, and competitions, auditioned for and received parts in musical theatre and opera productions, become college music majors, and pursued professional recording careers. Many of her students have successfully completed the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) Certificate of Merit (CM) program for piano and/or voice at all levels, Prep-Advanced.
Elizabeth has worked with local public high schools to help students acquire independent study credit towards graduation, as well as homeschool students and students with special needs. Internships for course credit are available for college-level students. By providing a comprehensive music program, her students learn general musicianship and proficiency on the instrument.
Piano Press is an ASCAP publisher, and Elizabeth C. Axford, owner, is an ASCAP songwriter, arranger, and instrumentalist. In addition to publishing music teaching materials, we publish and license piano and instrumental arrangements of public domain music, original piano pieces, and songs.
